KDMC Labor and Delivery

The birth of a child is one of the most memorable events for any family. King's Daughters Medical Center enjoys a dedicated medical and nursing staff whose experience delivering many of our newest residents shows in their day-today activities.

The LDRP suite, Mississippi's first fully-dedicated, single-room maternity facilities, allows mothers to go through the labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum process in one spacious room. Instead of being moved from labor station to the delivery room to recovery and back to your hospital room, you and your family can participate in the birth experience in the manner you and your doctor have chosen.

Upon admission to KDMC, you will be taken to your private LDRP room and assigned to an LDRP obstetrical nurse trained to handle all phases of the birth process. When the time comes for delivery, you will have your nurse with you - someone you are familiar with - in a private and secure environment. You will never be among strangers or strange surroundings, and you won't be separated from your family unless you need to be alone. The rooms include an LDRP birthing bed, a flat screen television, a sleeper love-seat for a family member who may wish to stay with you and a private bathroom complete with a shower and oversized bathtub. There is also a rocking chair for private moments with your newborn and for those "special introductions" when your children, friends and relatives meet the newest member of your family.
