|

Brookhaven Fire Dept. recently received two AEDs, (Automatic External Defibrillator) from the KDMC Foundation. The devices are used during a cardiac arrest to shock the heart back into a normal rhythm. For best results, during a cardiac arrest it should be used within the first five minutes. Brookhaven Fire Fighters have now completed training in CPR and AED operation. CPR/AED instructor Kim Bridge, RN from KDMC, provided a recent refresher class for the Fire Department and helped present the new equipment. Pictured with the Brookhaven Fire Dept. is Mark Lambert, RN, EMT- P, (EMS Asst. Director) and Terry Singleton, RN, EMT- P (ER/EMS Director).
